2.2 TD4 Timing Belt Replacement
The 2.2 TD4 Engine uses a dry rubber timing belt that synchronises the crankshaft and camshafts. With the belt deteriorating due to age, heat, load and other elements, which overtime cause it to crack, stretch or shed teeth.
If the timing belt is to fail, the piston and valves can collide in turn causing severe internal engine damage.Repairs are often extremely costly, and in some cases uneconomical compared to the value of the vehicle.

When Should It Be Replaced?
Most 2.2 TD4 vehicles require belt replacement every 8 years or 105,000 miles. Vehicles with unknown or incomplete service history should have the belt replaced for a piece of mind, and avoid failure.
